How do you raise rear ride height on these models? I heard about shims, how do you go about this. Can someone explain as detailed as possible? thanks

Take a good pic of your shock (esp. where it mounts to the frame!) and I'll help you out. On my 97' I just unbolted the top of it and put some shims on. Took three people to wrestle the shock, but other than that pretty easy.

It's a simple process. I did the same on my previous ZX-9R 2000 model. Just unbolt the nut holding the top of the shock and the shock linkages and place some shims (in my case 10mm worth of shims) before bolting it back together..

Guys, thanks for responding however the 98 and 99 are completely different from the 94-97 and the 00-03. the top of the shock has an eyelet and a bolt goes through the frame and through the eyelet. It doesnt have the threaded portion that the others do. Someone out there has got to have the answer.:banghead

I did did some searching and yeah your top shock mounting is a bit different. The way i see it, you have to play with the linkage length in order to raise or lower the rear. Why don't you go to your local fabricator shop and ask them to fabricate a linkage with multiple holes in it. In that way, you can play with different height with different holes.
