Hey all. I have a 94 zx11d. it seems to have a random no start problem. Most of the time it starts and runs just fine. But, every once in a while i will get on it and it will have no spark. If i push start it all is well. It isnt a consistent thing either. Sometimes once a week. Sometimes twice a day. And it never does it when im in a position to be able to trouble shoot it. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ray

^ I was gonna say that...no really, I was...
My battery is gonna need to be replaced before riding season starts back up. It's not like a car where it cranks noticably slow, its just that the voltage is so marginal that if the battery is working a little too hard to crank the starter, there isn't enough juice left for a good spark at the plugs.

A loose battery terminal, bad/sticking solenoid, or a bad cell in the battery can cause this condition..

By no spark, do you mean at the spark plug or it just wont turn over?

along with all of the above try moving wiring harnesses around and see if there is a short or a bare wire grounding out on mine the 1/4 coil pack had a wire that was to bare wire and randomly touch the frame and short out the coil pack found it by moving wires around while it was running till i found the area that was causing it

I would think if it had a short it would blow a fuse? had a GPZ 1100 Just die on me when I checked the fuse it was blown,Main wiring Harness shorting out. When I got to the dealer they said it was running fine and there was nothing they could do until it dose it in front of them so I stated it up and grabbed the harness and shook it around and guess what? Yep it blew and then they started work on it????? Morons!
