Shouldn't you have a manual with that?

buy 4 one liter bottles. You will be using about 3.7 bottles
or
buy 4 one quart bottles or the gallon size. This will be almost exactly right.
Use motorcycle oil not car oil.

Of course buy a new filter. you'll need some type of oil filter wrench to get the OEM filter off. Do not tighten the drain plug too tight. The oil pan is aluminum so the threads aren't that strong.

After everything is done, the oil level should be a little above the middle of the sight glass when the bike has been warmed up and stopped. The bike should be level to get an accurate sight picture of the sight glass.

Its easy, don't even have to remove the fairings. Only trouble I had, which is common on a new bike, the oil filter was a PITA to get off since I think Hercules himself installed it at the factory. Get an oil filter wrench that fits well. Mine wouldn't bite down on it, but my neighbor had the exact one made by the same company, but made in a different country and it worked when mine wouldn't. A strap wrench will work if you have to, but there isn't much room to work in there with the deep engine sump.

O no he dint!
I just mean a basic factory manual that has the weight and amount listed in it, and possibly a basic how to.

I realize that not everyone gets a factory manual with their bike. Thats all I'm saying lol

Doesn't the owners manual tell you to bring the bike to a dealer for everything but filing the gas tank?
Lol maybe. Haven't ever had one for a bike. Cars usually say though.

Well I just moved and haven't found the manual yet. And plus, does it really hurt to ask? I don't need an attitude.

Thank you to all for the input. Sounds alot like my 6r from '09. I see things haven't changed much.

Also, if you have the time order a K&N filter. They have a 17mm hex on the end so you can use a socket to remove it when the time comes. Its just easier. Autozone gets them for me next day. Make sure you have the K&N stock number though, those guys won't look anything up for what they are getting payed.
