i know this is a kawasaki forum only but my friend i've knowned all my life has a 2000 yamaha r1 this guy is like the coolest dude you could ever meet he does not have much $ but he would help anyone who would ask and not even knowing a person he still would give you all he has if he could thats why i am asking this for him if you think i should'ent be asking i am sorry but like i said this guy is the shit this is the problem his bike starts up in neutral but as soon as he kicks it in first gear it turns off plus his speedometer is not really working can someone help please i would be very gratefull if someone can help thanks really thanks its a 2000 yamaha r1

Check the side stand switch for it turning off. Not sure about the speedo.
