I can’t help you on compatibility, but the Zx12 uses a 6” rim already. Going with the Zx10 wheel is only going to save you weight without a gain in width.

I don’t know where you’re getting your info but, sorry; your source is incorrect. If you have a Zx12, you can confirm it.

Kawasaki parts fiche shows a 200/50-17 tire which is only appropriate on a 6.0” rim.

Wrong again! I can guarantee you that if you dismount the tire and measure inside bead lip to inside bead lip it will be 6”. Not 5.5, not 6.125”, not 6.25” but 6.0”.

You are correct there! Which is why I stated above.

As far as I know there are no high production true sportbikes that have wider than a 6.00” rim from the factory. Zx7P…6”, Zx10…6”, Zx12…6”, Zx14…6”, Busa…6”…etc.

If you want a flatter contact patch, go with either a drag specific tire (Dunlop Dragmax or Shinko Hookup) or run a narrower tire to spread the beads apart on a 6” rim.

I’m sorry if I came across wrong, but you gave very little information upfront and didn’t bother to look at your own bike for useful information. Visit Partzilla, RonAyers, etc for free part diagrams. Kawasaki is really good about listing bearing numbers in their descriptions. Heck, sometimes the give you spacer lengths.

You should be able to find bearings with the same OD and correct ID. I did when I swapped a Ducati GT1000 wheels (25mm axle) into a Zrx1100 swingarm 20mm axle) and Zx11C forks (20mm axle). The bearings are 2mm wider than the OEM bearings. You’ll need to face the spacers down by 2mm each. Custom spacers with a 20mm ID will likely be needed anyways so that will be part of their design. should also replace the crush tube between the bearings, inside the hub, with one sized to fit the axle’s OD and the bearings’ inner races.

by the way, i owned a 84 gpz turbo in the 80s, and a 83 gpz non turbo in the ninties, i miss the turbo

I own both…kinda…it’s a ‘83 Zx750A with a ‘84 a Zx750E engine swap. I’ve done all the work minus machining down the Triumph rear axle to fit the Ducati wheel.

I have a 9x20 lathe and a 6x26 vertical mill. I am willing to help if you need it.
