Made in China rearsets worked great until I lost my shift linkage because I didn't loc-tite the linkage bolt that connects the linkage to the shift lever. *Sigh

So I rode mis-matched. Stock left side and MIC right side.

Fantastic photos!

1st session after lunch. Tons of passing. Guys must've been exhausted because it was 90+*F out there.

2nd session after lunch (session 5). Good rhythm here. Probably my best laps of the day. 1:38.5 - 1:40

My assessment: Turbo329 is HUMBLE AF when he posts about his riding. In the first vid he is coasting past people on the outside around the 6 min mark, and again overtaking on the outside in that same section around 7:40. He takes a run onto the front straight and pegs nearly 160 on the speedo.

Dude, this is awesome. You really make me want to take my 9R to a track day instead of selling it.

Are you running a steering damper? I should already know from your other vids but don't remember. Was it head shake in the vid or tire slip?

I love watching the whole pack run away from you down the straight and then be picked off one by one in braking zones and corners (vid 2 ~6min). Are you full-on threshold braking at the end of the straight for a stretch (for example, overtake at ~10min in vid 2). I wish your vids had throttle and brake display.

Thanks for posting all of this stuff!

Thanks man. Funny thing is that I was losing a lot of drive onto that front straight because I needed to bang an upshift before the bridge. GP shift would've let me do that a lot smoother.

I was surprised at how I was able to go around the outside of folks in the carousel. I attribute that to the Bridgestone R11 DOT race tires that I was running. Once up to temp those things were SUPER grippy and I could be on a green/cold part of the race track and still have grip. Turn-in and transitions were EXCELLENT! I would go as far as to say that this is my new favorite tire and I LOVED the Dunlops prior to switching.

That was definitely some headshake you saw in the vid, especially coming over the crest after turn 3C (first chicane). It wasn't alarming though and it was controllable for the most part. I'm not too worried about it. If you're doing a lot of high speed stuff on a course with a lot of elevation changes then I would definitely recommend a steering damper just for the insurance.

I wasn't at full threshold braking believe it or not (I always tend to ride with a large reserve. I'm rarely ever "pushing"). Those EBC HH pads work excellent and with some high temp racing brake fluid they perform consistently with no fade all day even in 90* temps. Truth be told, I purchased steel braided brake lines for this bike last year and never installed them because I simply don't feel the need. I'll eventually get around to it but honestly, when I'm on the track with this thing, braking concerns don't trouble me at all.

What I would like from this bike is more POP off the corners. Part of that could be resolved by me losing some more weight. I've already lost about 25lbs and am trying to drop another 20lbs before the end of July. The gearing is -1, +2 so I won't play with that too much more either. The cherry on top for this bike would be some nice lightweight wheels and some lightweight Galfer wave rotors. That'd be worth a couple seconds per lap for sure.

I highly recommend you take the bike to the track before getting rid of it. If anything, exploring the limits of your 9R will help you to appreciate more, and utilize more effectively whatever bike you decide to buy in the future.

It's a fun machine for sure. My sensible side is telling me to sell it because I want to make room for another steed but I've seemed to gel with it a bit and am hesitant. I wish I had this bike when the Muzzy bore kits were being offered. I feel that I could definitely do some serious work if this thing had 150-160hp at the wheel.
