The Official March ROTM Entry Thread!! <- WIN A $50 CG GIFT CARD!

This is the Official ROTM Entry Thread

** The contest format will be an 11 month ROTM contest. Each monthly winner from January to November will be entered into a final poll in December for everyone to choose their favorite bike for the RIDE OF THE YEAR (ROTY). **

The winner of the ROTY will win a $50 CYCLE GEAR GIFT CARD!!!

-All bikes entered must belong to a ZXFORUMS.com registered member.

-All competitors must have at least 50 posts to enter the competition. We want to ensure prizes and glory go to real members of our forum.

-You must post a picture/pictures that everyone can see. No links!

-We would like to have some info on the bike, including year, model, mods, maybe a little story about the you and the bike.

-If the bike has won a Ride of the Month contest during the current ROTY campaign then you cannot enter that bike again. If you've got a new bike done differently...alright, I'll allow it.

-The entry must be a Kawasaki.

Once the deadline has passed, I will copy the entrant's posts to the voting thread to make voting easier. Also they will be added to the ROTY Voting Thread.
[B]

As always, the voting will be done in a separate thread found HERE

I'm throwin' ol' Sunshine back in the mix just for the sake of having more than one bike in here at the moment. :D

She's not all that pretty right now. But she's going to be getting all new bodywork and paint soon, as well as powder coating the wheels. These pics were right after my spill at Laguna Seca. Turn 3 is a tricky bastard on cold tires.

Since the crash the bike has been torn down to the frame and swingarm. Didn't drop the engine. New steering stem bearings, moved the reg/rec to under the tail section, new Vortex clip ons, new rearsets coming soon.

So here is my '14 ZX14 and I'll put in the before, during and after photos so you can see some of the progression. For the mods:

Hayabusa Intake sticker on the nose, thanks Blink!

Fender eliminator W/LED plate lights
Coffman shorty Exhaust
RacInc clutch/brake levers
BrakeAway throttle lock
Double bubble windscreen
New plastics
Leather seat with gel pad and memory foam inserts
LED accent lights, Halo headlights
Michelin PR4 tires
Smoked turn signals
Smoked tail light w/turn signal
90 degree red valve stems
Red painted heel guards

I'll have pics of the seat in my gallery if anyone's interested in how it worked. I really like it and it was a total of about $60 for everything.

The average entry...

Double bubble, MCCT (courtesy of CCMHunt - cheers!), ground cams, 45t rear sprocket, Pirelli Diablos, 4 pot brake conversion, home made can bracket and riser/rear set plates, 1/4 turn throttle, straight through inlets. Ah yes, not forgetting holes in the seat pad courtesy of next doors cat who also loves it & often sheds hair on the chain lube.
Wife bought it for me - had to ride back in the snow with flat front tyre and a posh alarm that acted like a rev limiter/kill switch - down a motorway with more cameras than you could shake a stick at.
4 years later have tyres with air & no damned alarm + less/greyer hair.
Good luck to all other entrants - it's not winning that counts & donate my $50 to charity ;-)

Yeah that is all the same bike, went wide in a turn and ended up in the ditch. Had to replace some front brackets, triple tree and forks along with all the plastics and headlights. Intake sticker says Hayabusa Intake

Oh dear Lord - apologies all, a bad case of DUI (drunk using iPad).
Ah well, so be it:

I forgot to mention home made +4 advancer, kleen removed, ports welded in cam cover, cover painted black to disguise discolouration due to welding, rebuilt forks using All-Balls* racing kits and Silkolene* oil with a 95mm air gap. Nice, but a little naughty, slightly mis-aligned blue head lights that clears the way when riding in traffic, especially on the M25 where car-based myopia is the norm.
* other brands are available-I just went with stuff recommended on this site-so it's your fault if it all goes wrong:-)

Mostly stock with only Integrated rear signals like the Euro ZX-10R and a rear Fender Eliminator.

I purchased this bike from CCM in Oklahoma. His boss was coming out to Laguna Seca for WSBK weekend to have his son race the KTM RC 390 spec series, so he brought my bike out to me. Thanks CCM!!

I rolled my bike over to the Laguna Seca Kawasaki pits and was able to get the tank signed by Rea and Sykes.

57X, 57X - Woody, Woody - bersrkerk, bersrkerk - JoeCoyote, JoeCoyote - powergroove75, powergroove75 - I get the idea.....watch out for the stealthy silver vote-snatcher.
Does cats claw punctures beat WSB signatures/brilliant rebuilds/mirror polishing?
Well, I might get the odd animal lovers vote.......

The aforementioned MCCT, painted cam cover and (don't get too excited) red ignition leads - the old ones were way past their best and only good for leaking sparks everywhere but where they should - colourful in the dark though. The ignition coils are soon to be located between the rad and front of the engine - to get rid of about 6 metres of leads that always get in the way:
There's bound to be a cat hair in there too, there usually is.
