Davecowan0723 New exhaust valves. New starter box. Believe it or not still in shop. Should have it back this week. Just in time for some snow here. Oh well. Still looking forward to riding my 900. Saving me some money told them no rush. Martin at Fun Center is one of the best Kawasaki mechanic. Should run amazing. Valves could of been bent when I bought it. Looking at $1800. Who cares. Just want to ride again. I’ll let you all know real soon.

ninjanut If it was off by one tooth, that seems like pretty extreme damage. It would run poorly maybe but bending all the valves seems unlikely. Did the bike run at all when you took it in?

Davecowan0723 So I took my bike into Fun Center Powersports in Bensalem Pa. Had trouble idling and not running strong. Ends up my cam chain was a tooth off and I bent the exhaust valves. My bike has been there for 3 months. Not too happy. Does anyone know about what this job will cost. I believe the 8 valves are going to run me about $400 dollars. $225 tear down cost. What should the total run. Just looking for a Ballpark price. Thanks in advance for chiming in. Be safe out there everybody

ninjanut Check the vacuum diaphragms for damage or being pinched. Could explain the hanging up and stall.

Davecowan0723 Here’s what’s going on. When I come to a stop and pull the clutch the bike revs to 3000-3500 RPMs. Then after 30 seconds to a minute it will come down and then die.

D-CON Any more info on carbureation? Stock or jetted?

You don't set idle with "carb screws". Which screws are you talking about?

Setting idle with carb screws

Bike runs great but won’t idle. Is it difficult to get right. Thanks guys!!! I have a 2000 ZX9R.
