That works. Yes if you are missing the spacing washer to kick that nut out then it won't have the correct clearance and will not work. I forgot those had one cause it's been a while since I worked on one.
The speedo sensor was fine. I ordered the spacer and it should be here later this week or early next. I'll throw that on there when i get it. Hope that works.
Well, I think i found the issue. I got the part, and took the nut off with a 4 foot pipe at the end of my ratchet. Then after i got the nut all cleaned up i noticed it wasn't right. It must have been messed up before, enough at least that someone took a hack saw to it and cut it up a alot. Here it is.
and here is a new one i found a picture of. Notice how much longer it is.
That looks like the problem. I guess i'll have to see if the shop has that tomorrow. I'll let you all know how that goes. Thanks.
One of the crazier things I've seen
Thanks for posting the progress.
Let us know how it turns out
That was it. The sprocket nut. Got it put back together, torqued down, and the lock ring bent down. Took it for a ride and it works great. Haven't seen that gauge move before. It was nice. I put the "first" ten miles on the odometer since I've had it. Thanks for the help everyone!
