A friend had a low-side and the engine ran on a bit. 2 months later the same rod bearing seized. He took it apart and fixed it and then traded it on a new one. It's a pretty good piece of work just to pull one apart to assess damage. Most residual problems after such an incident stem from loose metal bits circulating in the lubrication system. I would disassemble completely and clean everything out before putting it back together with new parts. Again, a lot of work and big $ if you have to pay to have it done.
Have an '07 engine for sale if you're interested. <80,000 miles and runs perfect. Comes with Power Commander, throttle bodies and TRE. Can email video of it running.
2007-2011 are the same. 2012-up may have differences.
I'd like $2K with everything. Power Commander, ATRE and GiPro, throttle bodies, exhaust headers if you want 'em. Shipping would be extra. Probably around $250.
Ok, let me check with a possible new mechanic Shop after June 26th when he returns. I want to see if he would install it or will he have me go thru his shop only. You know how some places won't work with you when bringing in someone else's parts.
I haven't ebayed it yet. Just gotta pop the mostly bare frame off and drain the oil before shipping.
