Potential new Concours owner

Folks I am looking at buying a used Concours 1400. What should I be on the look out for? Are there any recalls or flaws that I should be aware of when looking at a bike. Are there any years that are worse than others??

Any help would be appreciated.

but the early model

directed massive amounts of heat towards the rider's crotch/seat area

making it uncomfortable enough for a friend to trade off th a BMW GL1600

everything else he loved about the Connie

I think the newer ones are excellent

^^^ so true, earlier models were ovens on wheels probably going back to 2009, 2010 but they've become better and better over the last few years with less heat issues while riding. GLWP.

Depends what sort of heat you ride in.
I went looking for a 07-09 specifically because I don't like the look of the 2010+. It doesn't seem to throw any more heat than my zx11 did.

Don't worry about the heat issues. There is a guy that makes foam heat shields for the 08-09 that cure the problem. They work great, easy to install and are only $50.
