Today, I filled it and rode it until it hit reserve. 136 or 7 miles or something like that. Then found out the fuel pump does not in fact run when you press the starter while in gear and clutch out. On mine anyways....
I broke free of the house and took her for a long 2 hour ride. Filled her up twice and added a lil seafoam each time. Tomorrow I plan to start modifiing the Graves exhaust into a shorty and see where it will be mounted, and add decals i received in the mail
yay
edit; i did it now after i got exited. Doesnt look so plain, but the air ram hole looks bad. I will add a grate behind it tomorrow.
My bi-annual chain goop cleanup from the front countershaft area. Took about a 1/4 lbs of buildup to the trash can. Then it was a new rear tire, followed up by a soap and wax.
yeah the mileage should be a bit better than the 40 ish I am getting. But its running all kinds of rich though too, so... Should be better next year after the winter fun. I mean, like 140 miles to 3 and a half gallons or so isnt too bad. Im not entirely sure how big the fual capacity is before reserve though, so maybe I didnt even hit reserve at all and my bike is just retarded?
My two 9s hit reserve at 4g religiously, probably in the same neighborhood as your 7, where 1g remains. The older E starts stinking up the cockpit with fuel vapor 3 miles before reserve is tripped. Still haven't figured that one out yet, but it's kinda cool knowing she's reached her limit.
The absolute worst I've ever seen was a 175, back in my early tuning days before someone directed me towards FP. That seems like so long ago, 3 years, in fact; like the bad-old days. :squint If you ever want to find out your bike's total range, from fill-up to where she sputters to a stop, take along a 16 oz bottle of fuel. Something that won't leak or be a fire hazard.
Well the problem is that my bike has so many issues I wouldnt find it unreasonable to see the thing drop dead even with a gallon and a half of fuel left. Not saying thats true or that i expect it but it wouldnt surprise me lol.
I think its just getting ass mileage because its running so damn rich. My bike will not run when its "fully" warmed up. The gauge gets to half, the fan comes on, and it doesnt get any hotter no matter how hot out it is, but the bike sputters and dies every time I get to a stop light.
Routinely put 100 miles or so a day on her.
Keep the fluids fresh and topped off.
Enjoy the living shit outta her powerband.
Proudly bath her every couple days.
Which tires have you run on your 11? What do you like best and why? You can PM with it if ya want............gotta get some new tires for mine, curious what you've liked/not liked...........Thanks!
Can't say I went that fast on public roads. We were having fun though. Passing cars, getting our friction on and putting the green bike out front. 385.3 miles today on 7.46g.
Love my 11.......comfy on long rides and loves open roads, sweepers and tight ones too........maybe not as good in the tight stuff as say a 7 or 9, but, it'll hang it out there...........
Last night coming home on I-95 I was riding in rain, had rain gear on and barely got wet from the knee to neck...........
TODAY I'm going to give my 11 a nice bath, some wax and clean/lube the chain!!!
THIS WEEKEND, new tires and an oil change!!! :smile
