Swapping out stock exhaust 1st gen zx14 vs 2nd zx14

Hi guys, I’m new on here and would like a little help. I have a 2007 zx14 with the stock chrome exhaust. I acquired the pipes of a second generation zx14. I want to swap mine out because I like the look of the newer stock exhausts on the 2nd generation compared to the 1st. My bike is all black and I think the black on black would look nice. I also don’t like the up keep if the chrome. Anyway, I was wondering if this would be a clean swap or if there are certain things that would need to happen in order to make this work. If it is not something that is an easy swap for the entire pipe, would I at least be able to take the casing off of the 2nd gen pipes to put on my 1st gen pipes?

Thanks for your help with this!

My first question would be "why"?
Just the weight factor alone is worth getting rid of any of them.
2006 and 07 has smaller diameter mid pipes. 2008 they went with slightly larger midpipes and the 2nd gen might have worked for just the muffler.
I don't think the header will work either but that's just my guess. 2008 there was a slightly different outlet size and since the R version starting in 2012 is different in so many way including more cc's.

2006-2007 have smaller outlets due to 2008-2011 having a catalyst in the header junction. 2012-present may even be larger. 2006-2011 headers will swap. 2012-present are larger with slightly different bore centers.

So if you want to put 2008-2011 mufflers on your 2007, you'll have to sleeve them down. Why anyone would want to swap for those blunderbuss blooey pipes that come on an R is out of my pay grade.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!
