I will be there being pit bitch for my buddy #179 Arthur Kowitz, former Heavyweight Superbike and E Supersports champ. Stop by and say hello. Will be good to meet you after corresponding and such for a couple of years.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

I plan to attend with another member of the other Zx14 forum, depending on the weather. Itís been raining on the weekends these days.

This is my favorite motorcycle event of the year. As the date draws near I will send you my contact info.

Heading out of here on Sunday May 19 for some riding in Georgia. North from there to be in New Jersey by Thursday night the 23rd.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

Got a look at the pit layout last night. There is a Monster Truck Jam and a Swap Meet going on in conjunction with the AHRMA event. Trucks have about 50% of available pit space. Looks like the whole shebang is open to the public. No sure if the swap meet is car or motorcycle or whatever combination.

It's The Varsity Club Challenge where electric bikes built by participating university engineering departments compete. Last winter, I got a look at Virginia Tech's starting part, a brand-new Yamaha R1 which they were gutting and sending the motor back to Yamaha. They were working on a battery whose cells could be stacked go fill a certain shape, he goal being filling the R1's bodywork with charge storage and keeping the weight low while not sacrificing ground clearance.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

It was great finally meeting you yesterday after interacting in forums for so long. One of these days I'll catch you at some other event.

Always some fantastic old machinery at the AHRMA races. The swap meet, while kinda small, also had some real nice bikes on display.

One of the vendors had a set of Denco expansion chambers for a Kaw 750 triple in excellent shape for $300.00 dollars. I could not believe it.

There were also 4 nearly-new (single-digit mileage) turbo bikes on display, two Honda's, a Suzuki and a Yamaha. Some dealer must have squirrelled them away back in the '80's.

I found this 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD only 5 miles from my house. For a 41 year old motorcycle, the bike seems to be in excellent shape, only 26,000 miles. That means that this winter, on my free time I would be very busy restoring this classic motorcycle.

I don't like the LTD look, so I'll probably be making changes to the bike .... 18" inch rear wheel, Z1 fuel tank, Kerker exhaust, etc. I want my bike cosmetics and bodywork to look somewhat similar to the green and yellow 1974 Kawasaki Z1 900. Can't wait to see it finished.

btw, I read somewhere that the 2020 Kawasaki Z900rs color scheme is candy green with yellow stripes just like the 1974 Z1 900.

My riding partner from Arkansas has his Dad's old KZ 1000 that came with a Vetter Windjammer, plastic bags and a 90-lb chrome luggage rack/sissybar.

He and I have collected most of the parts necessary to put it back to stock, but he passed on a serviceable set of stock pipes.

Ran when parked.

Nice, a huge congrats on that 1000 LTD, truly classic in every way. Really looks in pristine condition.
