Exclamation zx9r 520 coversion kit

Well, I realized that I am in need of a new chain and started looking around for some.. I scrolled across a 520 coversion kit with chain. I've heard of dropping a tooth or two in the front or adding a few in the rear but both? I've heard that one or the other of the above fore mentioned is more than enough. So, I read into it a little and they are vortex sprockets, they drop one tooth in the front and add two in the rear plus it comes with a chain. It sounds like a really good kit especially for the money($140). So the reason I am posting is to know if anyone with a 9r has tried this kit or know about it. Post up and let me know what you all think of it.

i did a conversion on my 02 zx9. -1 in the front and +4 in the rear. i love it. depends on what your looking for, dropping in the front will give you a quicker take off ( more snappy) with mine i had to add a speedohealer because of the big change in gears.

I also did the 520 conversion on my and originally went -1 and +3.

I've since went back to stock (16th) on the front. It actually helped the performance when comparing it to another bike on the street (race). With the 15t on the front it jumped out good down low but didn't pull through the gears hard. With the 16t, of course It lost some snappiness but it pulls better up high.

Down on the front and up on the back has the same effect - more acceleration, less top end. Ie lower gearing.

ergo, up on the front and down on the rear gives taller gearing.

I personally would not go down on the front simply because of the tighter radius the chain has to cope with and the increased wear that may produce. If you go down to far you may find your chain cannot cope.
