I'm pretty sure one from earlier years will fit as well...95 on I think.

You know your broken piece can be welded...and if done by a competent welder, it will be stronger as well.

I would not trust having that piece welded. MY left side one broke on my 2000 and I had a VERY skilled fabrication man weld it and it didn't hold. It's the cheapest of cheap cast aluminum you can get. Your best bet is to order a new factory kawi part. It's around $80 bucks.

Really? I had my left welded back in 2004 when after suffeing a 'faux pas' coming into Toronto at the beginning of Canada Day long weekend. Out of necessity I was forced into having it welded...using an inert gas process of course. Its still on the machine some 16,000 miles later, and apparently stronger than original.

Incidentally, the welding shop noted that the piece is of a very high quality aluminium alloy...light but brittle, as super light alloys often tend to be. But what do I know about metallurgy...perhaps he was just flattering KHI's manufacturing technology.
