Buying Decision
I'm getting back on the horse for next summer. Previously, I owned a '99 ZX9R that was upgraded to the 2001 body style and having previously ridden a Suzuki GS500E, I fell in love with the ZX9R...
So I'm looking at buying another one. This one is a 1994 ZX9R(B). It has over 28,000 miles. Here is the good:
Aftermarket Chrome Rims
Kevlar Brake Line
R&K Chain
Sunstar Sprockets
Valve Cover Gasket replaced this year
EBC Clutch Plates replacement this year
Aftermarket windshield
Tires have less than 3,000 miles
Second Owner who put ~7,000 miles on it
Here is the bad:
*Minor Road Rash
2nd Gear "starting to slip once in a while"
So I am asking you to help me make a buying decision, price is less than $3k. I'm just concerned about the lifespan of the bike... with so many repairs recently that makes me question how hard it was ridden and what other underlying problems might be present. Then the slipping 2nd gear?! Will that mean I have to replace the gear (about $200 in parts, I can do the labor) or the whole tranny?!
What do you think?
