Fork Swap

Does anyone know if the forks from a 05 ZX636 will fit on a 98 ZX9? And if so, what type of mods are we looking at?

Thanks in advance!

from what ive read . they will fit the bottom triple but the top triple hole is to big. you can make a spacer/collar that goes around the zx6 fork and it will work...

The 04/05 ZX10 and the 9 use the same bearings on the stem so the triple will fit but the offset is different and the nut(s) on the top of the stem are different. The fork stops are also on the opposite side of the bottom triple. I did it but went the extra mile and bought the Attack triple system. They even put a ZX9 stem in it for me so I could use the stock nut. With the Attack triple, you probably could use the 6 legs, don't know what their length is. There are a few other nits you have to work out, clipons, cable routing, ignition mount with the Attack setup, etc. With the stock 10 triple, the extra trail means it could slow the steering too much. Putting a later rear wheel on with a 190 rear tire would reduce it back some but not as much as the offset increases it. I was going to try raising the forks in the triples to reduce the trail as well until I decided to go with the Attack. By the way, I was worried about messing the handling. It didn't and I'm very happy with the result.
