New to the site

just wanted to say Hi... i just picked up a 01 zx9r for a project bike...

its my first real time getting to work on a sportbike... i have been a big car person for years and a while back got into dong choppers...

so this should be a nice and fun experience...

I will say that i like my toys to look nice... so appearence is top on my list... not becase i dont believe in fast.. but we dont have a 1/4 track in my state... and our roads blow (holes)... so .... its more for the love to cruise...

I have began to modify the bikes exhaust system... has a good tone to it... and have been workin a custom fab swingarm (just to do it) - - -

would really like to do an undertail exhaust - any input would be great - -
had some gold plating done -

any thoughs or advice is very welcome... would really like to get a bit more power from the bike - but not lookin to spend tons right off - too many other projects going on -

Here is the bike (you can see the swing arm is all aluminum and way too bright! - it will be powdercoated black this winter - i dint want to pull and replace bearings to powdercoat it till season was over)

here is a pic of the chain and swing arm (the license plate frame will be removed before powdercoat - and prob not put back on.

And this is the back side - there is room for the exhaust to come up and out at the tail. and i'd like to put my license here --- any ideas are welcome)

the swing arm has about a 7" stretch on it... and has a 300mm tire. noticed a dif in turning.. not as agile - - and i have to launch a lil higher in the rpm range with the bigger tire... but it seems to hold the round good under hard acceleration

i see a company online makes a tail replacement peice that has a 6" stretch and eliminates the rear seat. i will look into this...

also - becasue of a previous project i did (not a bike) i have some blood red candy paint left - i think this bike will be repainted with the candy cause it will match the gold plating (glod is real gold plating not powdercoat)

thats for the warm welcome guys....

Holy crap. Looks difficult to steer. Cool though, I'd ride it.

yea.. its got a 45 degree rake... the handlebars are just for movng it... they are not permanent - they still need to be fabbed a lil more...

the craziest (most difficult) bike we've done is a bike for a t-shirt company...

check it out... its about 52 degree rake... 49 in the neck and 3 in the tree...

i'm excited to get some good solid work put into this ninja this winter...
