ZX9 C2 balancing

Afternoon,
I have a ZX9 C2 with 14k on the clock. The previous owner had the bike dyno jetted with a performance filter and exhaust - the print outs show a good 135bhp at the wheel, but....
It seems real lumpy down low, and viby at mid revs, you can't touch the choke on cold start up as it floods it straight away..

My question is, if I balance the carbs (to try and smooth things a little) will I ruin all the work done on the dyno?

Cheers..

...will [synchronizing the butterflies] ruin the work done...
Hell no! Just the opposite. Depending on how off the butterflies are, it's probably worth a couple HP.

The science behind synchronizing (harmonizing) the butterflies is an attempt to level each cylinder's vacuum draw, so they all draw identical amounts of a/f. The benefits of which are, more crisp throttle response, smoother power delivery and potentially more power throughout the powerband.

BTW, choke flooding and a lumpy feel would indicate that the low speed circuit is excessively rich, i.e. wasting fuel, increasing power robbing carbon deposits, and potential spark plug fouling.

Syncing should make the bike run smoother and will not hurt the jetting. You are definitely rich down low, you could have too high of fuel level, too large of pilot jet or the air screw is not opened enough, or the needle needs to be lowered. Follow this link, I've found it a great tool. http://www.factorypro.com/tech_tunin...m_engines.html
