zx9r c2 oil level

hello hope someone can help i want to no how to check the oil level on my zx9r c2 dose the bike need to be on stand, stud up ect?

The bike should be totaly level,if you dont feel comfortable holding it up by the throttle while you look at the sight glass have somebody sit on the bike stand it striaght up the oil level should be at the top mark.
