2000 ZX9R "ticking" sound

So my bike constantly has a ticking sound coming from the engine. Mechanic said it was the cam chain and they don't take care of that during their tune ups. Is there anyway to fix that? Or is it something the bike just does.

And also at low rpm's (under 2-3k i would say), the bike makes a really weird, fast "vibrating" sound almost. Or really quick ticking. But when I pull in the clutch or rev the bike up it disappears? Any idea what that could possibly be?

Thanks for any input.

Manual CCT or just get used to it. It's typical Kawi engine noise.

When was the last time the valve clearances were checked?

To be on the safe side, do a compression check. If any cylinder's PSI reading is off from the others and/or less than 150 PSI, you're due for a valve adjustment.

I took it to the mechanics to do valve adjustment because of the sound, and they said not to worry about it that it was the cam chain most likely.

But when it makes the weird sound then stops when i pull the clutch in, i would say it is a little louder on deceleration but not to much of a difference. The bike still shifts extremely smoothly so I don't think it would be the clutch?
