interchanging 99 zx9r frame...

Are their any other frames that I can use in place of a 98-99 zx9r frame that will allow me to use all the other major parts: Engine, forks, swingarm, wheels, etc.

I wrecked my bike the other day and bent the subframe, because it is welded to the main frame I either have to get it straightened or get a new frame ($$). I would like to change to a frame with a detachable subframe that will allow me to transfer everything over. This way if it happens again I can just replace the subframe.

Are their any frames ZX7R, ZX6R, different year ZX9R frames that will work with everything off my 99.

Thanks
John

Swing arm 98-03 zx9/
Motor 98-03 zx9 all the same/
wheels 98-99 zx9 same/ 00-03 zx9 same
forks 98-99 zx9 same/ 00-03 zx9 same BUT you can swap the whole front end from 98-03

So if I picked up a 00+ frame I could use the motor, swingarm, and forks providing I used the whole front end setup.

However I would need new wheels.

Is that pretty much it?

Thanks
John

the forks on a 98-99 are longer than 00-03. but still mount up if you use the 98-99 tripple tree. And the swing arm axle is smaller on 98-99 but you can still use it but you have to use a 98-99 rim on back

Just to clarify, the 2000 up used bigger discs, 320 mm instead of 300 and used the bigger front axel. Funny, the ZX6 for 98,99 used the bigger axel like the 2000 9s. I bought a 2000 fork set to put on my 98 to run the big disks. The 98 clipon mounts on top of the triple, that's why the tube is longer. The 2000 clipon mounts under the triple but wraps around and up so the clip height is the same but the tube shorter. If you need forks I do have both sets, 98 and 2000, putting ZX10 forks on now.

If you use the triple from the appropriate year, the 2000 has slightly less offset, I think because of the bigger tire 190 vs 180 used on the 6" rim versus the 98's 5.5".
