The bike cuts off....

Can someone help.... On my 96' ZX9r I can start the bike with out a problem. I can turn on the choke and it's fine. But if I turn the throttle the engine cuts off. If I play with the throttle (rolling it off and on) and get the RPM's above 2000 it won't cut off..... But once it falls below 2000 and I try to roll on the throttle again it cuts off.
Thanks

Hello there.I would balance the carbs (make sure they are clean first). Then set the throttle cable adjustment. This should help give a new feel to the bike.
