Gearing for wheelies - need help please

Ive had my bike for a while - 1995 zx9r - and the thing is a boat compared to newer bikes. Stock geearing is 530 44t rear and 16t front. When I bought the bike it had a 520 conversion with a 44t rear and 15t front. The thing would not power wheelie in 2nd gear which sucked. I dont really like to clutch wheelies so i bought a 13t front and i can power wheelie in 2nd gear when i hit 7000rpm. But im starting to not like it anymore becuase its constantly at high rpm which is no good for the trips im going to take this summer. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about what size sprockets i should get. I was thinking of getting a 14t front because i hated 15t and liked 13t. Any suggestions. 520 vs 530 make any significant difference for wheelies?

Well... essentially your gearing your bike down, and with the quick acceleration it may pop up easier, but that also makes it more difficult to race it.

Obviously the more teeth you get the quicker it will go up.

i run a 14 - 41 and it takes alot of winding it out to pull itself up, so i may convert mine too.

well im not sure of the differences between your bike and mine. i have a 2001 9r with no mods except a d&d full. i bring it up in first and swicth to second because second isnt all that great of a gear. have you tried that?

i have an 02 zx9r, stock sprockets were 16t front and 41 rear, i could power it up in second at about 5K and the same in 3rd, just bounce it alittle and hit in the right spot, you should be fine, i run it now with a 520 kit and i went -1T in the front and went +4 in the back, does them at a lot slower speeds which i like

I agree but powering it in second means that your goin hella fast. if its in first we're talkin 70 mph wheelis instead of 100
