new to ZX forums, just sayin hello
Hello all. i'm in savannah ga. us army, ft stewart been in for right at 19 years. i think the ZX7 is probably the classiest bike ever produced, especially the 96-03. hell how many other bike models have a virtually unchanged production run that long? i'm a kawi forums refugee. i hope this forum isnt like that one in the sense of getting flamed because of the way a person chooses to have their bike. ie. chrome, polished frame, etc. dont get me wrong that site was great for the info it provided but everytime someone mentioned extending the swingarm of their 7, or chromed items they seem to get blowed out the water by the "purist". just because someone wants their bike to shine dont make them a squid! if this is one of them , just let me know up front. so at least i will know what to expect. look forward to being a member!

I get called a "squid" constantly on forums because I run 8" over arms..neon..polished/chrome..etc. Always found it amusing as I have been on Sportbikes since 1985 with the Canadian GSXR and before that on dirt bikes. I feel that a bike should be an extension of a person. WHY would I want to go to a Bike Night and my bike is lost in a sea of others? I sure as hell aint plain, my bikes aint gonna be either. And if someone on here DOES flame you, ignore it. After all..it is YOUR bike and as long as you are happy with it and its how YOU want it to be, thats ALL that matters!!

good. glad to see that! i feel the same damn way. i get a wierd feeling that all those "purist" asses are the kids from school who sat around and drew Ligers. a sport bike should be flashy. my cars and bike are a reflection of me. 04 navigator and 03 caddy cts.. and yes the caddy has big wheels. if money was right the 7 would be chromed the hell out with the swing arm reatment and spikes on every fastener!

Welcome to the forum... and IMHO I haven't seen anyone get "flamed" on here for being an individual. Mostly the members here are all about mods, and making things personalized... I can't recall a post (maybe I turned a blind eye) when someone trashed out someone else for personalizing or customizing their ride.
People may offer their opinions, likes or dislikes as to what you have done, but it's just that, their opinion... and if you're going to post up something, you've basically asked for people's views on it. You need to be willing to take the criticism along with the praise.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here, and once again... Welcome to ZXForums. Post up some pics of your ride... and oh yeah... I used to own a blinged out 2000 ZX7R... they are a sweet bulletproof ride that beg to be personalized.

Welcome to the site nandez. From the looks of your avatar your 7 looks identical to what mine looked like up untill 2 weeks when I stripped it down for repainting. It has a polished frame and swingarm, chrome wheels, levers, grips, and frame sliders. Im keeping all the shiny and leaning towards painting it gun metal gray with a few little red accents, like brake calipers, with red l.e.d.s. Ive been on this forum for about 6mths now and its been very helpful. Theres a lot of friendly people here with a ton of experience and knowledge. Hope ya find a new home here.

I'm still at Ft Stupid. my dance card was full so i sat this trip out. i already been deployed to the lovely exotic middle east (sarcasm all the way through) 4 times. I'm trying to leave this luxurious ( sarcasm again, did ya catch it that time?) station of choice in the summer in route to el paso (ft bliss) yeah i know one hellacious spot to another, but guess who's got over 19 years time in service . yep.......... THIS GUY!!! the wife is still in and will be for a few years so i will be the "dependent" i was gonna check in to joining the officers wives club, but the wife frowns upon that with much disdain. go figure, i was just wanting to support the troops! and plus i feel i could bring alot to those bake sales! but anyways. do your brother and cousin ride? if so maybe i couls catch up to them when they get back and start all that post deployment partying!
thanx for all the welcomes folks!!!!
