1993 ZX750-M1 for Sale
This bike is one of few remaining kawasaki racing production model motorcycles. The rules for ama superbike racing during these years specified all manufacturers had to offer a production version of the bikes they intended to race. I think "homologation" was the term used to describe this process.
This motorcycle is the "m" version, not the normal "l" version which was the standard street bike offering. The "m" models had fully adjustable front and rear suspension components, 39mm flat slide carburetors, a close ratio transmission, a slipper clutch, an aluminum fuel tank, and no provisions for a passenger.
I bought this motorcycle in 1994 from a guy in seattle who had been racing it. I took it back to colorado where i was a service manager at a cycle dealership at the time and polished the frame and swingarm, installed a race prepped zx900 engine, race bodywork, factory race wire harness, pm wheels, ebc brake rotors and all the stuff required to run it in the open class of the mountian roadracing association which was called "race of the rockies gto" with ricky orlando as the pilot. We did really well with this motorcycle and i even rode it in the amateur gto class which was known as "the mechanics race".
The last time this bike saw a track or was ridden was at pikes peak international raceway in 1997 and it has been sitting in my garage since then. I just finished installing the original 750 engine, stock wire harness, all electrical components, stock wheels and the stock bodywork. Everything on the bike works as it should. It has a brand new set of pirelli diablo tires that at the time of writing this have 0 miles on them.
A few things on this bike have been upgraded. I did not get the stock exhaust system or rear shock when i bought this bike. It currently has a hindle full race system on the machine which has been heat taped all the way back to where the exit pipe attaches to the front header. The rear shock is a fully adjustable ohlins and the bike still has an ohlins steering dampner installed. The carburetors have the factory race kit parts installed.
Included with the bike are front and rear stands, a selection of jets and needles for the carburetors, and many spare parts and gaskets that would normally accompany a motorcycle headed for the track.
Not included with the bike, but available for purchase are the following:
A zx900 engine that has been fully kitted with kawasaki factory racing valves, springs, retainers, cams, a close ratio transmission, 2mm over 13:1 pistons, the factory slipper clutch and chain kit that eliminates the starter/alternator drive. Included with the engine is a muzzy racing full titanium exhaust system that will only fit if the radiator cooling fan is removed or the radiator is spaced forward, a set of 40mm cv carbs that were stock on this bike. The carbs have a supersport jet kit installed and i will also include a new factory kit. Also included is the stock transmission, stock valves, springs, retainers and a damaged falicon crankshaft that could be repaired. We lost a rod bearing at the last race of the year in 1997 and this engine was rebuilt with a brand new stock crankshaft. It has zero time on it after the rebuild.
A set of performance machine lightweight wheels with spacers to fit a zx7 but adaptors could be made to fit any bike. The wheels would include, ebc full floating steel brake rotors, a rear caliper, a stack of sprockets including a few for the front of a zx7/9, two new chains, two sets of new ebc pads for steel rotors and misc adaptors that are unknown fit.
