Hey all, sorry for such a long delay on this project and also for responding but I've been dealing with a severe case of Vestibular Neuronitis, which is pretty damn debillitating. Basically you can't do shit, can't see clearly, loss of hearing, all kinds of fun shit. But i'm on the mend now and hope to resume with this project very soon.

Are you going to use the same ZX-7R fairings or use a different design? I'm thinking about putting either ZX-10 fairings on, or maybe a GSXR fairing. I'm not sure yet. I'm kinda worried about how they will match up

I have located a 98 and up ZX9R motor, and was wondering if you know if it will work for a engine swap into a 95 ZX7??

what did you have to do to get the rear wheel and the front wheels to fit your setup ie. spacers the axles you were mentioning and also you brake setup front and rear ? have been wanting to put on my 7 and after i have seen the fork setup i am really considering that swap also. did you have to use the new cbr clutch perch or was that a decision to clean things up on your bars? thanks so much for your help i was a member of another forum that was all kawi but just got a bunch of smart a$$ replies thanks again Jeremy

Well for the front, the entire front was chnged overed to the zx10r front end which required the replacement of the head races and bearings, every thing else just falls in place.
The rear needs some new spacers and KC at BRG is custom fabricating some captive spacers and hanger for the brake caliper.
The reason for the CBR pirch was because CRG does not make a hydraulic pirch for the 7R.
Hope this helps, if not chime back in, it might take me a couple or so days to respond, but I will.

so the stem bearings are differnt for the 10.. i've noticed in one part book they are the same but in another they are different. is it just the inside diamater of the bearing?
i have a complete 10 front end i'm deciding weather to put on my bike.

Yes, the 7R has needle type bearings and the 10R has the ball type bearings.
The best option (due to ease) is to order a set of 10R races and bearings, remove the races from the 7R frame and install the new 10R races. The 10R bearings themselves are a different size than the 7R but the outside demension of the races are the same size as the 7R, so they will fit right in the 7R frame.

wowowowowowo! what! races? are races also known as cups? and youcan punch these out!? so i could put my 97 usd forks on a newer 9r that used needle bearing? what is going on? this is awesome! i'm going to have to go check out my frames and see if this stuff is switchable/interchangeable! i was under the impression your stuck with needles or balls and unless you wanted to weld and risk your headtube coming off, you were s.o.l..

Ya Know, I'm not to versed on the 9R but one thing I have learned while doing this project is that there is always more than one answer, always more than just one way to do anything, all it really takes is a little inginuity. If someone told me (it can't be done or theres no way) I'd be like bulls**t and find a way to do it or some one who could.
You need to check on a few things like outside diameter of the two different races. If they match, Well then thats good, they should fit in the 9R frame. You need to check the two different stems themselves as they might be different lengths and diameters.
What year is the 9R????

After looking at the schematics for both bikes it appears as though all the neccessary parts are identical. The only thing I'm not sure of is the length of the stem on the 9r. If there the same length, I don't see why this wouldn't be a straight drop-in conversion. Try it and let me know, you got my interest peeked.
