zx10r Throttle tube on zx7? (quick turn)
Hi,
i've read that an 04-05 zx10r throttle tube (being bigger in diameter) will work as a quick turn throttle. just wondering if anyone has done this. and if it will just go right in there without having to mod anything else.
here's what i'm talking about :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...#ht_2730wt_939
i wanted to stay away from super glue and zip ties, and this seemed like a good option. unless it wont work. haha
Thanks!

bolt on with switch gear and cables! might need to reroute cables through the other side though due to length if I remember correctly

one thing i saw said adjusting the cables out all the way would be enough. sound right maybe?
i'm replacing my pull cable because 35k seems to have taken away my throttles ability to snap back, and i thought i would give this a shot while i'm at it.
but that throttle tube WILL go into the 7 cable turn assembly?

zx6r (636) A1-A2 Throttle... the only thing is you have to replace the entire control side because its seperate kill/start housing and seperate throttle housing...
I am in the process of the swap while im doing my build
beyond that there was a guy on ebay who had a bunch of kawasaki ZX7R QA throttle sleeves... and I believe last time i checked kawasaki still made them
I will look for the part number tonight when I get home.

hmm. i don't wanna switch out the housings for all that, i wanted to accomplish it with a bigger diameter tube. like the zx10r one i posted. (does anyone know if that will fit?)
I found one zx7r P quick action tube on ebay. but it's $30 and it doesn't say it even ships to the US

The guy sent me an email back saying that they wont ship to International... to many issues of lost stuff...
I guess he can sit on his stock if he wants
I think you should be the adventurous one on this... Lots of people try more expensive things to see if they will work...
its only $20... give it a shot

It fits without any further modification, aside from having to adjust your cables. I've got one on my '02. Takes a little getting used to, but is a big improvement over stock.
If you have a Parts Unlimited dealer nearby, Motion Pro makes one for about $10. Saves a couple of bucks on shipping.

I have one too, just need to increase the slack in the cables. Makes a pretty good improvement. I would't say it's a "quick" turn like 1/4 throttle, maybe 1/2.
ZX10 throttle tube in 93 ZX7 housing btw.

Yes, from an 04 10R. I installed new cables and adjusted them to their loosest at the carb end, then used the adjusters at the throttle housing to fine tune.

n there. went in there just like the other one. just have the cables adjusted to their loosest at the carb side. no big deal. i also colored all over the tube and inside of the housing with a pencil for some extra lube. also improved the action too.
here are some updated pics (not of the install tho)

yes it did! coming from my other bike, i was surprised how far the zx7 was making me move my wrist achieve awesomeness.
This makes it just about a 1/4 turn. definitely an improvement!
