Cdi Problem?

Hey im looking for a little help.I originally posted with a bogging problem and as of now still havent fixed the problem.I have noticed another issue and am wondering if this has something to do with it.I have to cycle the ignition switch a couple of times before it will spark and fire up.It will crank over every time but wont fire up unless i cycle the key.I still have the bogging above 6000 rpm.Im wondering if the cdi may be bad and causing this problem?

there is a resistor that has desoldered itself on the bottom of the ignition switch, this resistor is part of the 'anti' theft circuit, if the black box doesn't see this resistance it will not send a pulse to the coil- keeps douche bags from hot wiring your bike, its a bitch to get to it, but it can be repaired- also if you have aftermarket high wattage bulbs in your headlights, get them out, that is why it desoldered in the first place-

Your cdi is bad.Mine did the same thing and i changed the cdi and all is good.If you have a jet kit it is set up wrong.that will bog your bike at 6000 rpm.If you have a pipe high flow air cleaner you will need a stage one jet kit if you do not have one.The bogging is because the needles are not on the right groove and wrong main jet.

well im not sure if this will help but, i have been having as bogging problem for a long time now, i thought it was my fuel pump then i thought it was this and that, well i forgot i had bought a higher heat range spark plug instead of the stock ngk i went with the higher heat range ngk well i pulled thew plugs and they were really dirty like a lot of deposit on them well so i found my old plugs and put them in and so far it doesnt bog. also the main reason why u would get the higher heat range is if u ride longer distances rather than short rides, if u ride with higher heat range plugs but only ride short distances the plugs dont get to the right operating temp so anywayz you might want to either check to see which ones your running with

91-92 zx7r use identical ignitors. The standard zx7 ignitor is different.I don't know of any others that are a direct replacement.Others may plug in to your harness okay but they may not work as well as your's.7R's have a higher redline and probably different ignition maps/curves than the standard 7 of the same years. You may have to look at a dyna 2000 or dyna 4000 ignition system.
