It's an awesome bike...I love it...That pic was from Americaid 2009..I just installed a power commander this summer..made a huge difference..I have an appointment for a dyno tune next month..should make it even better...I'm hoping with all the upgrades to get 155 RWHP....maybe 170 at the crank...we'll soon find out!!

Here's a few more pics...
http://1991zx7r.shutterfly.com/
I'm ready for engine removal, which I'll prob do this weekend if I find the time..Then the frame, swingarm and sub-frames will be re-finished..I would like some feedback on the frame...I want to make the bike as original as possible...so should I strip the frame and re-anodize the aluminum? or just strip it and paint it silver? Any suggestions? I don't want to polish the frame...that was in, what 20yrs ago?

The guy needed money asap (divorce).. I had to drive 8 hours roundtrip (NJ to VA) in the rain to get it...It needs a lot of work..the pictures are deceiving..there's a ton of rust on it...the plastics are ok..tires are dryrotted..exhaust is shot..rear shock is no good..etc..etc....the good news it turns over and runs fine...

Just posted up some more pics. I need some ideas on the frame. After stripping off the paint I noticed that the anodizing was already removed. So I wet sanded the frame and polished it up just to see what it would look like. I don't know if I like the polished look or not. I considering painting the entire frame silver. I need some feedback from you guys on this. What should I do? I only want to do this once, so I want to get it right the first time. Thanks..

Man,you're not afraid to get right in there, you've got the whole thing apart.I'm a little more hesitant than that I guess, looks like you're doing things the right way though.

Mine rocks a polished frame,I like the way it looks but I guess it's not for everyone.I think it looks decent if you have a polished swing arm, rear sets and a chrome muffler, kind of ties everything together.I've also considered "chrome" wheel tape to finish things up,may end up doing it.

Here's my options:

1. Keep the frame polished
2. Paint the frame silver/gray
3. Re-anodize the frame (not really sure if this can be done without removing the frame vin stickers, which I would like to keep on)

Any suggestions?
