Tire sizing for next season BIGGER or smaller???

Hi guys...

my bike 2000 zx7r (p5) ... muzzy slip on, k&n filter.. beyond that bone stock.

So i am getting some input for tires for next season, maybe pick up a few sets (as i do lots of highway riding) ...

I am running stock sizing michelin pilot (zr) on it right now...

I want maybe a wider tire on the rear, and yeah i know steering is cut back the bigger you get but i ride with my girlfriend on the back (she weighs about 125lbs with gear)

does anyone know how wide i can go?

basically i want something that is going to ride well with her as my passenger but when I am by myself i can take it hard over through the corners without having to force it.

let me know... you guys know a lot more then myself as i have only been riding this bike a few months.

thanks!!

i think you can fit a 200 with no probs...unless youre running a hugger, you might have a little clearance problems then but our swingarms are plenty wide for extra rubber. personally, i just like the look of the 190, it suits the 7r better...a lot of people look at the bike and assume its a 1000.

I hear of guys dropping to a 180/55...

I know what you mean by the size of the bike... Its big, tough looking and its stereotypical supersport. I dont like how all the new bikes even the 10r have such a small frame, they dont give a good ratio for a guy my size (6'5" 225lbs) and for a big bike they are still low

hands down my favourite bike (iconic Kawasaki engineering)

I get looks and people yelling from their cars of the streets that they love the bike

180/55 are good for track days. 190's are perfect. I know someone with a 200 but i think its for looks.
