getting fork seals done
Im getting my fork seals done on the 27th, i have a guy locally who i trust to do all the work on my bike, he have me a price of $250 for parts, labor and everything else, is this a good price or can i get a better deal...the fork and dust seals were $11 a piece, anybody think i could get them cheaper somewhere else?

With the Forks off the bike a repair shop here quoted me 45 bucks including parts and labor per fork. About $120 to do both with the forks on. Sounds like a lot, I would for sure call around and see what other shops are charging, a simple phone call never hurts, that is how I got my quotes. Good luck.

yeah, this is a guy i have been taking my bike to for a while now, idk why he would rip me off, but he says its three hours of labor, cuz im just gonna drive my bike in there and have him take the forks off and then put them back on, the seals together he quoted me about $50 for the whole seal set, and then the rest is labor ($180) and he is charging me $15 for the fork oil, and then another 10 for shop costs

yeah so i guess its all a matter of where you take it ^^^, if they quoted you that with the forks off, my guy is charging me 180 labor with the forks on the bike, i trust this guy and he does really nice work and knows what he is doin, he told me he would clean them out and make sure there is no dirt in them, re-assemble them and put them back on the bike

shit, i ended up buying used forks instead. im still not 100% if my old ones are bent, but they looked like they were bowed, so instead of wasting time and money ebay was easier...and this way when these wear out i can rip apart my old ones first, and if they do turn out to be bent then atleast i know how they come apart and how NOT to do it.
i do everything myself, being a tech is a major plus when it comes to maint on mine and my buds stuff, all payments should be paid in full by the end of the project and should be in the form of cold beer or really good head

You're either a pretty accepting dude or you have more female friends that ride than I do...

LOL, yeah i dont have any issues with bends or anything, i thought about going that route but i would end up paying over $100 for a set and i cant gaurantee that the seals are good, so this way i kno the seals are brand new and the forks have been done right...
