95 zx7 wont start

hi guys, as before the bike still wont start, cranks all day (as long as battery is charged) i changed the plugs and checked the wires they are old but still should work....

i did pull number one spark plug boot, stuck a screw driver in there started the bike and a spark did not jump at all, i even touched inside the boot on the contact that snaps onto spark plug and nothing....would this say that the coil is finally bad?

i am getting fuel because the new plugs were wet but it just wont fire...meanwhile...NO ONE has a gen 2 zx6 or zx10r lol damn you kawasaki for making good bikes that people dont wanna sell

i have to return some video tapes....

The old screwdriver trick......sounds like you are on the right track with spark.

I would start with getting/borrowing a spark tester. They are available at most auto parts dealers and easy to use. They ensure your boot is grounded when testing.
Then check all the boots separately. Our old bikes are famous for plug issues with old plug wires. You may try removing all plug boots from the plug wires and cutting a small piece off and reinstalling the plug boot and checking for spark again.
Cheap and easy fix and/or eliminates something for you when fault finding.

Agree with above, if you can't find a good spark tester another method is to pull one of the new plugs, insert it into the boot as usual, but let it lay down on a piece of grounded metal.

If no spark, try another one, then check for power/ground at the ignition coil, look for corrosion on connectors and follow the wires back to the ECU/battery and look for pinches/chafes.

I'll try to dig out my old zx7 manual, but there is a resistance check for that coil if I'm not mistaken... maybe someone will chime in...

Both coils no spark? 1st make sure you don't have a bad fuse. Not that familiar with the ole 7s. Could be cdi box, or pickup coil.

i dont think its the coils i was fumbling with it earlier and it was trying to start...i do believe it is something ignition related and all fuses are fine, always the first thing i check.

i have to return some video tapes....

Need 3 things to run

Fuel.....plugs wet.
Spark.....not confirmed yet on all 4 cylinders
Air......compression test?

And as you already know the Sevens need a fully charged battery.

Make sure plug wires did not get mixed up when you changed the plugs.

Keep at it!

Again, are you getting spark off of either of the coils?

Ok pulled each plug and i have spark so either a float is stuck or i have no compression...though oddly enough when i pulled number 3 it really wanted to start minus the plug being in there...
