Dumb question, what octane : Kawasaki ZX Forums: Kawasaki Ninja Forum

I've run all my bikes on low octane and never had a problem, but I just got this 89 ninja 750r and cannot find out if I need to run premium. The face that you can still advance the ignition makes it seem like it was tuned for low grade, but since I cannot find this info in the service manual i'll get the truth/opinions from you.

ALL Japanese sport bikes NEED a min of 91 octane.... You can seriously damage your engine running anything less. (Predetanation)

Thanks for that link, I was looking for what Kawasaki recommended. I could see using mid grade stock but why would it require high grade when there is still "room" for advancing.
