How can i tell if the carbs i am looking at, are the flatside carbs?
I just got my bike in a basket, and it came with 2 engines, and 1 set of carbs. the guy told me they were from the 91 ZX7K (which had the flatsides) but how can i really tell?

is there distinguishing marks, or shapes?

the slide in a flat slide is black and it opens with the cable. A standard CV carb has a brass colored valve that rotates pens with the throttle cable, and the slide lifts separately.
The cap on the top of a CV carb is plastic and round. A FCR will say CR on the top....its cast aluminum like the rest of the carb.
