New zx7r owner

i just got my 1996 zx7r about a week ago.
it has 19kmiles on it. the guy who owned the bike
before me painted it black and did crappy job.
im gonna try to get a new paint job soon.

how high should my idle be on a dead stop or
in neutral? as of now its about 1500-1600
and it makes a hard jerk from neutral to first,
sometimes it grinds the gear a little too.
i tried to adjust the idle knob but that knob
doesnt turn at all...
anyways here she is.

Your cable might be broken. The best way to see is by following it to see where the issue is. At the end of the cable you can see if it's disconnected then adjust it there.

problaby guncked up. Need to take the tank and air box off and spray the out side of the carbs ( springs and idle ajustment cable) with a little carb cleaner then try turning it.

alright i got the idle fixed.i took the tank and airbox off, and pushed
on the spring a lil bit and then it started working lol i put some carb cleaner
on it too though.
it works better now when i put in first gear but sometimes it still does the hard jerk
from n to first.
also i can hear my chain clicking kind of loud. i dunno if thats normal or not.

Yes a light pop is normal. Just make sure your idle is set right around 1100 RPM's +-100. And check the slak in your chain if it's to loose it will sound worse than it really is.
