ill post my service manual pages in just a few, i havta find em and upload- also note, if its noise thats your concern for valve adjustment, it may not help much..ive heard from almost every owner that theyre very noisey.

anyways, for everyone else's reference im posting the instructions asap.

before you start pulling the tank and air box, etc.. make sure you have a set of feeler gauges, 8,10mm...the basics-also i dont suggest adjusting valves unless you are fairly wrench savvy (for example: changing light bulbs, a spare tire, wiper blades...even spark plugs, etc...- these are not mechanic experience points and you shouldnt even bother pulling the tank) no offense to the routine maintenance guys, its just that when you get into adjusting valves you risk damaging expensive parts.
basically what i mean is if youve never seen under a valve cover before, dont bother playing curious george on your kawi...just take it to a shop and do us all a favor (ive seen too many people that assume they know and ruin the entire top end) anyways...newbs, youve been warned

well now that ive read the procedure, it gives you a list of shims to correct the adjustments on each cyl...not exactly fun-but im sure if you have a micrometer and get shims from kawasaki maybe you can do it... but atleast with this, itll tell you which cyls you can check when #1 is tdc and the correct clearance is...but you should see both intake and exhaust closed when comming up on compression stroke-obviously with both closed you can gauge clearance. now, when you go and stick your feeler (heh heh heh, butthead laugh) your valves should be closed, and you should have some fresh oil to dip the feeler in (heh heh) if your clearance is good, it should fit perfect or a LITTLE tight (my example of "a little tight" is a slight drag on the gauge when you slide it back and forth(heh)) i love valve adjustments...

any questions for in depth solutions...well sorry, you shouldve gotten a service manual- nah, ill try and help but im not that great at explaining.

hope the writeup helps, heres the pages

Supra what part of Dallas are you in and what type of beer you drink. I'm in need of a valve job and you sound like a willing candidate. J/K. Do you do your valves every 7500 miles as recommend or when you hear excessive (even for our bikes) noise. I'm at 11,000 motor sounds like it did at 3,000 when I got it.

haha, when i knock mine out ill let ya know if im willing to do it twice...as for beer coors light, and i work in north dallas/carrolton.

if your bike sounds like its running well, i wouldnt mess with it...but if you get into a winter project like cleaning the carbs, pop the valve cover and just check the tolerances...if you ride pretty hard-yea it might be a good idea to do it at an earlier interval.
