GSXR 750 front end on ZX7R

I just bought a 97 ZX7R that needed a little TLC. I just realized it has a late 90's Suzuki GSXR 750 front end on it. Forks, wheel, rotors...I realized this when I could not figure out how to attach the front fender...and of course then noticed the Suzuki stamping on the front wheel....looked at pics on the net and matched up the rotors and forks with a GSXR.
My question...is this a good or a bad swap? I do not know if someone just stuck what they had laying around on it or if it was done for some positive reason. The bike had a clear title so I do not think it has been wrecked.

HELP............

can only think that the bike was damaged and thats they this front end has been fitted, ive heard of gixxer front ends before, as they are generally easier and cheaper to obtain than zx7 forks, performance wise? the zx7r front end is far better, especially if reworked by maxton

I figure it was one of two things...like you said, easy and cheap replacement or it was a better front end.
I guess I will ride it some this fall like it is and tear it down this winter and swap it back to OEM. Planned on it being a winter project anyway.
hmmm....how do I put a pic on here?
