headlight bulbs?

What the hell? I thought we were rockin H4s. I went and bought a pair, and go to put em into the headlight assembly and they don't fit. What gives? Are people just snipping the tabs off the sides to make them fit in there or something? That doesn't sound too stable.

Plus H4s are a 55w/60w bulb and I pulled some 45w/45w bulbs out. I read somewhere that our ignition is poorly designed and drawing too much current will desolder one of the leads on it. What's the deal?

What kindof bulbs do I need to fit in there? Can we use higher wattage bulbs without turning the bike into a puddle of plastic and solder? And if so, how?

okay, so apparently H4's ARE the bulb everyone's using and we're just hacking the tabs off. Which leads me to two questions. Do they still sit in the mounts properly or do they pivot on the one remaining tab? And probably more importantly, are 55w/60w bulbs going to draw too much power and f up the keyswitch?

I know plenty of you are running the H4's, so... What wattage are your bulbs? Did you have any problems with the ignition desoldering or melting your plugs/housing with said wattage? And, has anyone reworked their wiring to make it more tolerant of higher amperages?

I'm not sure, but I was having the same questions. I wanna upgrade to HID's. I'm wondering what the difference is for the Car H4 Kits and the Motorccle kits
