Off center rear sprocket or wheel hub?

The amount of chain slop on my '99 ZX-7R varies greatly over its range of travel. Its always been adjusted for proper slack at its tightest point, but now it's so sloppy at the loose point in the rotation you can feel the torque change under hard acceleration in the lower gears. I can't remember it doing this when it was new (over 28K miles ago). I have recently changed the front/rear sprockets and chain, same prob. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What is the condition of the cush drive rubbers? Bike in neutral, rear wheel on the ground - grab the sprocket and see if you can rock it back and forth without the wheel moving. If so, the rubbers need replacing.

Wheel bearings? Sprocket carrier bearing? Are they the originals? Excessive wear on the rear axle or wheel spacers?

Unlikely, but check the rotor for warp. Could be causing the brake to drag. Probably not, but it never hurts to check.
