Tail light Question???????

So i just recieved my clear led tail light with integrated sinals and it looks like it is gonna be sweet, if i can figure it out. So I am stuck when it comes to the turn signals. The tail light has only 2 wires coming off it for the signals, one blue and one yellow. The stock wires have 2 for each side totaling 4 wires. I can manage to get one side working but not both its either one or the other, I have wired and spliced and rewired a million times and cannot figure this out. I am going to try one last time to splice the blue wire into 2 wires and run one to each side and the same for the yellow its my last hope. If anyone has done tghis before or has any input please help. Thanks.

I have one of these lights on mine and I couldnt get it to work right either. Mine has 1 yellow wire for each signal so I connected them to the positive wire from the bike. Both sides would blink at the same time no matter which side signal I hit. I talked to several mechanics and they all said hook it up that way thats its supposed to be internally grounded. Someone told me try taking the light apart and making sure it had a good ground but the bolts stripped out inside the plastic housing and I cant get the light out period. I eventually gave up and got some flushmounts. Please let me know if ya figure it out.

well shit. I tried every possible way I could think of to wire it up and I cant get it right. I can get it to where only one side blinks but then its only that side. I could get both sides working but not the way they are supposed to, the whole light flashes and it just looks like it would confuse people. My light also has some led's on the bottom side that shine down, supposed to be for the tag I presume but my fender reflects the light right back and makes it look white. I think I am going to dremel at my fender and try to fab something up. I will let you kknow if I figure anything more with the wiring.

I just thought about sumthin. I changed my front turn signals since I last tried to wire it up and I wonder if that may have had an affect on them. Im gonna try it one more time this weekend and see what happens. If it works Ill let ya know.

I got it!

I have an 01 zx7r with front and rear led turn signals and got mine to work I am not sure what you guys are talking about as far as wires to the tail light but I think I can help. I am running the stock tail light at the moment, but am gonna buy that clear lens set up Anyways when I first hooked up my turnsignals the fronts were fine, (there multiple led lights) but when I hooked up the back, if both were plugged in they both went on at the same time. So I hooked up an 8ohm resister from the (yellow and green) + wires to ground and it works perfect. The problem is the flasher needs to see resistance similar to an incondecent bulb. Now if that doesnt work for you or you are using intergrated lights do the same for the + wires going to the rear bulbs. A resister for each wire, dont try an cheat by hooking them up to the same one. Got mine at Radio shack there $4 each and are 10watt (I think) that should do the trick.

so I went to auto zone and bought a set of resistors specifically for led's well those were worthless and fell apart. Today I went to radio shack and got some of the 8 ohm 20 watt resistors. The only difference that makes was that it took away the amber flashing, the whole tail light still flashes. I dont know what to do I have tried everything.

I partied a lil too late last night and was a too hungover this mornin to mess with it and the weathers been shitty all day too. Unfortunately the bike is sitting outside (does have a cover) so I cant mess with it till it clears up but as soon as it does Ill get on it.

Well ladies and gentelmen I have conquered this demon!! Finally, about 20 mins ago. After playing around with resistors and not being able to get anywhere I went out and purchased a set of universal blinkers that I had intended on using on the front. Well after i had hooked them up to the front I figured out that it helped shit all. So ai then decided to hook them up in the rear along with the signals in the tail light and waalaa!! the shit worked. So now I have 2 sets of rear turn signals and they all work in perfect harmony. I will have to get some pics of his set up. Now the grandmas and grandpas can see me changing lanes a tad easier hopfully.
