Whats your best mods/aftermarket add ons?advice please!?
As some of you may know if you frequent the General Discussion forum,my 07 ZX6R was knocked off it's sidestand a week or so ago by a car driver and it's currently in the garage awaiting the insurance company to OK the repairs.Luckily my garage is on the ball and has 'overestimated' abit, giving me a bit of leeway in what I have done. This means that as well as the repairs that are needed to get it roadworthy and cosmetically repaired(as well as an overdue service!) I can afford a few choice mods.At the moment i've got as far as aftermaket clipons to make it more comfortable(always hated the stock riding position). Can anyone recommend some good clipons that 'up' the position a bit? And any other advice for worthwhile mods such as gearing,PCIII's etc would be goodi.e:whats the best mods you've had done?Cheers guys and gals.

but the addition of adjustable levers all around and better brake pads are a great feeling with the addition of with ss brakeline. Personally a set of great tires is sweet to. PP2ct's are amazing.

I would say the X-tre from Healtech is the best $for$ peformance upgrade. +hp in 1-3rd gear for under $150. But I'm not sure if your dealer would install it for you and/or honor warranty with it installed. If they will put some of the cash in your pocket, I say get it. If not, the 1st thing I would go for is the PP2CT tires. I would also have them change your fork oil. It degrades and gets dirty faster than you think. And have them tune your suspension for you (with you on the bike). That's monetarily cheap but worth a million bucks.

For the money the best 2 things at the lowest cost would be -1 Fr and +2 Rear gearing and the X-TRE all for about $225 or less and requires no tuning or anything but install and raise hell. This will give the bike more OBVIOUS gain in performance you will ever do to the bike. There a lot of things you can do but you will never beat the price and gain in these two combination's.

I like my Pazzo shorties and my Puig DB. The levers feel and look great and so does the screen.

The reason I picked these 2 is because you said it's stuff the shop would be doing. Fork oil's a bitch and you can't do the suspension alone. The tires too unless you have a tire machine. Most other affordable mods you can do without help.

First mod I did after the free jumper mod was install a Scott's steering stabilizer. No doubt this had the biggest overall impact on the way I ride the bike. I put go-faster mods on later, but the increase was not as dramatic. I would highly recommend anything control-related first; clip-ons, levers, rear sets, steering stabilizer, and if you have the $$$, suspension. Not saying that a full system and other power-related mods won't make a difference, they just won't make as big of a difference as the others.

a comfortable and confident rider is faster just because he/she is more handling and power efficient.

i actually bought stainless lines because everyone raved about them - "huge difference omg so much better!!!11" which turned out to be a barely noticeable change besides a slight increase in feel. then i added pazzo levers because of the same reasons - everyone raving about how good they felt. they were meh. mostly cosmetic.
best mod i've done has been rearsets. made it much more comfortable for me to sit, shift, and position my knees to grip the tank.
