New to the board and have a new bike, some questions

Hey everyone

I'm new to the board and also have a brand new 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. First bike actually! Couple friends ride and talked me into buying one and, after much research and reviews, I decided on the ZX-6R.And I'm loving it so far! Some questions...

1. Rear turn signals: It's pretty ugly, looking like some Jar-Jar Binks. What tail light options are best for the 2009 ZX-6R so I can get rid of the ugly turn signals on the back?

2. Seat: Not as comfortable as it could be. Is there any recommendations on other seats to buy for the bike?

3. Gas Mileage: What's the average gas mileage people are getting on the 2009? I think I'm averaging around 120 miles before the fuel light turns on.

4. Upgrades: Are there any necessary upgrades for the bike? So far it feels and handles great, but is there anything that people feel is necessary to upgrade to make it feel better ergonomically or just perform better?

Thanks in advance. It's been a ton of fun to ride so far and I'm excited to be on the board and get feedback from those of you who have been riding and have much more experience than my rookie self. Thanks again!

welcome and awesome bike to start with. ive ridden one but cant afford. and i agree with you on the seat. im 5'11" and 210lbs.. the seat isnt the most comfortable. use the search function for the forums and you can read bout whole lot of upgrades. just first get comfortable and be careful riding. after you feel comfortable with ur setup then think about upgrading.

got any pics?

If padding is the issue, and not the shape, you could always remove the cover and add a thin sheet of foam that you cut to shape. The covers are usually just stapled.

Congrats on choosing the best 600 in the biz!

If you'd like the bars up just a bit for more comfort, Heli told me that they are going to be releasing there awesome product for the 09+ ZX-6R.
