Im new to the bike world so I'm wondering if there is anything specific I really need to look for . thank you

Nothing really specific...you need to just do an all-around check on it. Sorry, I can't be more helpful but there's no way to know how the previous owner really treated it. The only thing you should for sure ask about is the head gasket and if the recall work has been done with the new design head gasket.
Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Find a good motorcycle mechanic that will give a good once over, check the plugs and such, including a compression test. Have him meet you there, pay the 85 bucks or whatever and see what the mechanic says. Then you will know exactly what's what...

Not sure where you are in LA, but these guys have done work for me before, and they're a pretty good shop:

Ninjas are four-strokes, so I would so similar checks as you would a car. Listen to see if all cylinders are firing, valve knock, and oil leaks.

find out if it it is a late 2007 or early 2008 manufacture date. It could drop a valve; it's a defect/recall in the valvetrain.
Based on the 3700+ miles it's less likely since it tends to happen within the first 1000 miles if it is gonna do it. If it has a lot of valvetrain noise (kawis have louder than average, but Normal cam chain noise) be conscious about it.

if your LS1 is low miles and 6 speed, its probly worth more than the 6r.
either way, talk him down in price because you'd need a new rear tire if its a racing tire.
and see if he has the stock stuff to go with bike.
