6th gen supercharged grand prix vs 1993 zx600c ninja

My friends friend, thinks that his 6th gen, (not sure what year 97-03) supercharged grand prix will beat my 1993 Kawi Ninja ZX600c in a race 0-100mph.

If im not mistaken, a 93 zx600c will run high 11's in a 1/4mile.

I did a google search and found out that a 3200lb car would need 450hp to run an 11 sec 1/4 mile. Is this kid retarded or am I?

Look into torque rather than hp for quater mile times...

depends on mods to car

I have a stock one that is pretty quick. If it has smaller pulley and cold air intake, it'll run low 13's. If he's on street tires, no way unless he's got a lot of work done to it. Just make sure it's supercharged and not aftermarket turbo because with the turbo kit, it will be in the 11's. If he hooks up with drag radials or slicks, you'll be playing catch up. Let me know the outcome. You should beat him.

Thanks will do, afaik its only supercharged. And I did see it at night a couple days ago and it has street tires.
Im not even the one who instigated this, he might genuinely think his car is faster.

Your bike really should leave him behind on this one. Assuming you can ride it well enough. You'll have more work to do to get it right than the guy in the car who will mostly just mash the gas.

Anyway according to this that car has about 240 hp, 280 ft/lbs torque and weighs about 3400lbs. According to this calculator in that setup it should run a 14 in the 1/4. If he's done some mods it could be quite a bit quicker. Of course the quicker it is the harder time he'll have getting it hooked up. Front drivers spin easy.

HP, torque and RPM are all related. Here's a calculator.

torque in ft/lbs = (hp * 5252) / RPM

Those cars run mediocre unless somebody put thousands of dollars in it. Don't worry about it. Its probably a 14 second car.
Around here we have some guys with gtp's that run low and high 13's. Those cars start grenading the transaxles when the get in low 13 neighborhood. Not to mention those eaton roots blowers make hoards of heat under boost.

its also bout the driver... good launch is everything between reaction time and max power with max traction. but more than likely u should be faster on your bike than he is unless like stated above he has a lot of work done

thats hilarious.......u will smoke him if u know how to ride.....my 08 accord (268 hp stock, 6 spd.) will probably beat that....im not saying my car is the fastest or anything like that i just like hondas................the grand prix will do 6.5 - 7 seconds to 60mph and 1/4 mile in apx. 14-15 seconds..........BOTTOM LINE ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE
