zx6r 1/4 mile times
i will going to be running my zx6r in a couple weeks and i wasn't really sure what to expect. this is my first time ever down the track. i have messed around on a couple back roads and it i know it is fast. one of my friends marked out what i am pretty sure was 1000ft and then he timed me. the best run i made was 10.75 sec. i know there was a bunch of variables bunch but if i ran anywhere near an 11 sec 1/4 i will be happy as shit.

i'd be interested in knowing what it runs too. If i could run 12's without trying (a regular street start and easy shifts), i would be happy. bike is 100% stock (jumper mod) with a 120lb rider.

My first time out last year on my 02 I ran a 12.6 no launch what so ever. I need more seat time I dont want to be looking at the sky. and I let off at the 1000 ft mark, they told me to because I wasnt wearing leather pants and if I ran over 120 theyd kick me out. it was cold, and I couldnt get traction. so hopefully you will do better than my pathetic attempt

I went to the track for the first time on my 08 zx6r, and I ran a 11.5@124, with a crappy 2.0 60' time. I had never drag raced a bike before, and ive only been riding for maybe 6 months tops. I know if I can get my 60's down, it will run a 10 no problem.

you will run low 11's high 10's all day with sloppy starts, get down the 60 ft with stockish hp and you will run low 10's.

im a VERY good drag racer, my 07 with a gear, and slip on with a stock tune, ran solid 11.0-11.1x at 123. i need more gear though. -1 +4 should be better for launch and top speed, im putting extensions, and air shifter, and spray on my 07 though

a little weight reduction goes a long way. hope you plan on getting it tuned if you spray. might think about cutting the cat out as well. IMO kinda pointless to spray if the exhaust is restricted

same with the 14's.... rickey gadson can run 8.70s all day on a stock 14. The power is there, it's just how you use it. for 10 flat...

i would like to run mine but being that i'm currently over 225lbs it would probably be pointless. maybe if i lost 15-20lbs sure.

I have an aftermarket header as well, and yes, this isnt my first rodeo, ive raced 2wheelspeed events for a few years, so i know a lil bit bout tuning bikes, and settin them up for drag racing.

ryan, there is NO way your bike or my bike will go a 10flat on nuts, itll take n20 to get it that fast, i promise. dont be discouradged, but you probably wont get out of the 12s the first time or two, you go to the track

only thing i'll be running as of current when i hit past the 1,000 mile mark will be a strap. more mods to come later but damn this recession! I doubt I'll ever hit low 10's but I'm optimistic with future mods. I've been racing before (a handful of times), so it's nothing new. However, this bike is 6 years newer and more powerful than anything I've ever owned, so I'm excited to even go!
Good luck to everyone that plans on racing this year! Post up your times and pics when you go sometime!
