Maryland Inspection Woes... anyone?

New guy here. Actually this is my first post! Woo! Anyway, I have a quick question if anyone's in Maryland and can answer. I'm getting the bike inspected on Monday and they told me right off the bat that it will fail for integrated taillights because it doesn't have turn signals that stick out from the bike. They also said it would fail for not having a rear fender...? Does the stock license plate mount act as a rear fender or something? I mean, I can order a tire hugger if need be, but it just seemed a little odd to me since there wasn't any actually "rear fender" from what I could find as far as stock pictures online.

So any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated since I'm new to the whole bike thing.

i hate maryland. your best bet is to find someone cool who does inspections and tip them a little bit to let you slide.

Hey man. It just so happens that I just bought the same exact bike as you haha. I LOVE the flat blue. That's a cool suggestion, it's just a matter of finding someone to do that. It's just a pain more than anything else. I'm still a little confused about needing a "rear fender" though.

the blue is like nothing else i've seen on a bike in stock form. my friend has a candy red chromed out stretched 929 and he loves the blue more than his.

all that shit is just visually inspected. all you gotta do is catch that right person and say hey man can't i just through you some greenbacks and you pass my shit so we can both go about our business? problem is finding someone who doesn't hate crotch rocketeers.

Yea. It may actually work. The guy that took a look at it rides a zx14 and we were standing there chatting about it and he was saying how much he liked the paint. So if he's the one doing the inspection, I might actually be able to push that a little bit. Hopefully it'll all work out.

I had the same problem when I got my 05 636 inspected, my problem was the first inspection shop I took it to, wasn't a bike shop, and they nailed me with rear fender new rear turn signals and a new taillight (they said my "Stock" taillight wasn't red so it had to be replaced). I ended up taking it to an actual bike shop 2 days later and when I walked in to ask them about these things, they said the taillight was fine the turn signals were fine, and no rear fender needed because my exhaust "stopped debris from flying up" and that the other shop only said that because they were going strictly by the book and didn't know shit about bikes.

In case your close, I took my bike to Twigg's (http://www.twiggcycles.com/) in Hagerstown.
