Riding height?

I was wondering if 5 10 would be too short for a stock height zx6r?
Haven't had a chance to get out to try one yet, don't want to get attached to a bike til I get the money in cash.

I'm about 5'11 - 6'0" on a good day. I sit on the bike with both feet flat. I can stand up and there is room between my crotch and the seat, but it isn't much.

Sit on a few different bike and see how they feel to you. If you're set on the ZX6R, then you'll be alright.

Alright, any idea on how much it would take to lower it a little bit if it didnt work? Im trying to run low on cost as possible but keep quality.

If you're 5'10" there really would be no reason to lower it, other than cosmetic reasons. You should sit and stand just fine on a stop ZX6R

Alright, I'll let you know how the hunt for the bike goes.
In Florida I know I dont have to keep insurance on it (i will keep minimal but not full) if it's paid in full but is there a way to make payments and still be able to avoid paying for full coverage?

I'm 5'7" and I'm on my toes, granted my bike is a little raked. don't buy a bike based on if you can touch the ground comfortably. That's not what they were designed for...

Didnt plan on that at all, I've decided on the bike, just wanted to see if people figured lowering would be needed.

I ride a ZX9R, and I am 5'9". I touch with only the balls of my feet, but that has never proven to be an issue when keeping her upright. The only time more foot contact would be nice is when I am trying to back her up (she weighs more than the 6R by quite a bit). So my opinion is, no- you will be just fine. Have fun, and enjoy it!

Will do my best to! Still deciding on what year (07 or 08) and what color I'm in love with the most.
Kinda partial to 08 SE but we'll see if I have the money and if I can find it used.

I have the zx6r and am 5'6", can touch with the balls of my feet normally, but backing up really sucks especially when you step on a rock during the process. Don't want to sacrifice suspension for lowering just so i can back up comfortably...worse comes to worse I suck up my pride, get off the bike and reposition it that way.

How much did you end up paying for your zx6r? And did you get used at all or nah?

If it's your first bike, I'd go with used. You're bound to drop it during your learning process. You'll be mad that you dropped it, but even more if it's new. Especially if you're making payments on it.

I've heard the 07/08's have problems that people believe should be either covered under warranty or recalled.

Haven't heard much about the 06's, but then I'm partial to them because that's what I own.

Love the exaust on the 07's, but not sure if I like the body work so much.

To each their own though.

Let us know when you purchase.

It'll be around November, friend's brother is coming down and he's a motorcycle mechanic so he's going to check out everything for me.

What problems do the 07 08s have?

Can't remember which is which, but one is said to have cam problems, the other has some type of ticking noise.

I ended up paying 10k after tax/dealer cost/other stupid costs...i have nearly 1700 miles on it and have got used to it. I was initially going to go with lowering it because I am 5' 6"/155 lbs and the ZX6R does sit up a bit higher than the gsxr i was looking at. The guy who sold me the bike told me to give in a week and if i still didn't like the ride height then to get it lowered. Needless to say i've gotten used to it...even though i still have toughts of lowering it.
