up to you whether you want to fix it or not. you could touch it up a little so you don't have any black marks. But if it bothers you that much then replace it. They don't look like they're about to fall off so I wouldn't worry about it...

construction is in progress. sanded down all scratches which eliminated about 30%. using resin to eliminate the deep scratches and waiting to sand now...plan on filling crack with a fiberglass repair kit?? would that do the trick??? and then painting :) sound dandy?

sounds good except for the resin on plastic part. I don't know if it's just the stuff I use, but fiberglass resin doesn't seem to stick to plastic very well. Give it a try. couldn't hurt

if it's a stock fairing... it's an abs plastic... polyester fiberglass resins will stick... you just have to do a little prep.
in the area you want to patch..hopefully the inside of the piece... behind the painted surface.. sand it a bit ...break the surface.. blow off the dust. use some acetone on the surface... won't take too much at all... very little.. with a small chip brush (disposable.. firm bristles). . scrub the "to be patched area".. not to rough... kinda like brushing your teeth..
do it once... let it sit for 5 minutes... and repeat... the surface should be tacky.. (sticky)..
then take a little cup of the resin (polyester).. it will be easier if the resin is thickened up a little bit at this point.. use cabosil, poly-fibre, or normal baby powder will work... before adding the hardener (MEK-P) to the resin..add a little powder.. mix with a small stick.. add powder till the resin is like a milk shake.. this is also referred to as MUD.... this will help the resin stay where you want it.. so it doesn't drip all over the place... add 2 percent MEK-P to the mud.. stir well... add mud to the tacky area... add one or two layers of fiberglass cloth.. tap out so the cloth with a chip brush till the cloth is no longer white.. and it absorbs the resin... let harden.. sand..
sounds like a lot more work then it is... it will be easy to fix.. and save you money..
also.. if you're gonna work with resins... do it in a ventilated area.. use a fan, and where a respirator...
a new piece of fairing may be sounding pretty good right now... but give the fix a go.. you want to see someone working with fiberglass... check you-tube... you'd be surprised.. there may be a video showing how to this already...

GET BETTER FRAME SLIDERS!!!! There is no way they should have sheared off or cracked after a fall from less than 10 mph. Please invest a few more bucks into a good pair. They are an important and functional upgrade for your bike. Hope you're back riding soon and your body heals quickly.

not to argue, but those look like more than 7mph scratches... i see lots of wrecked bikes. I doubt he was being an idiot, but maybe around 20mph...still the frame sliders shouldn't have broken off...

Hell I went down hard at the racetrack, slid on the side of the bike for a while then went flipping into the air with a not so pretty landing. One of my frame sliders ground halfway down, but nothing snapped off.
You wouldn't think one would just snap off like that with a low speed landing. What's the point of a frame slider if the slider breaks off first thing?
